Communication
Communication skills coaching for everyday work.
Practice for meetings, updates, and professional conversations where clarity and listening matter more than a staged speech.
Communication skills coaching is for the speaking you do when nobody has booked a keynote. A project update. A recommendation in a meeting that has twelve other items. A hard conversation with a peer. An explanation to a client who is already impatient. The session is live practice on those situations, with feedback you can use the next time they happen.
This is coaching, not an open class and not a self-paced course. You describe the conversation, try the language, and revise it. A course with a cohort is a different kind of help.
Professional communication skills are treated as practical habits. Say what you mean in the time the meeting actually gives you. Hear the question that was asked. Leave people able to repeat the point. That is the standard. It is not a personality rewrite.
What the coaching pays attention to
Clarity
Many workplace messages fail because the point arrives late, or because the point and the background are braided together. Coaching asks for the sentence you would say if you only had one. Then it looks at what has to come before that sentence and what can wait. Most of the work is that edit. The vocabulary can stay ordinary. Ordinary is often what the other person needed.
Meetings
A meeting is a series of small talks with shared airtime. Coaching rehearses the update you will give, the question you will ask, and the way you will disagree without burying the disagreement in preamble. Interpersonal communication skills show up when two people are talking past the task. The rehearsal separates the task from the tone, and it gives you a line you have already said once in practice. It does not promise that the other person will change.
Listening that changes the next sentence
Listening is part of communication skills, and it is easy to fake in a description. In a session, listening is tested. You hear a summary of your own point the way a distracted colleague might hear it. You practice the pause after a question. You practice answering the question that was asked before you add the one you wish they had asked. That is teachable. It is also unglamorous, which is why it gets skipped in motivational talks about presence.
Professional presence
Presence, stripped of slogans, is whether people can follow you and whether you look as if you are in the same conversation. On video, that includes the frame, the pace, and whether you vanish into a monologue. In a room, it includes whether you talk to the slides instead of the people. These are delivery choices. They overlap with public speaking coaching when the “meeting” is really a talk, and with presentation skills training when a deck is doing the talking for you.
Workplace communication for a group
If you are asking for a team, the corporate format is agreed for the team’s task. Use the corporate inquiry and describe the situations the team actually faces. A person who wants coaching for their own meetings can use this page and the consultation form.
What a session looks like
You arrive with a conversation, not necessarily a script. It helps to know who will be there, what you need from them, and what has gone wrong before. You try the opening of the conversation out loud. The note might be that you have explained the history before you have made the request, or that the request is still implied. You try again with the request first.
Some sessions use a short role reversal so you can hear your own point as the other person. That is a rehearsal tool. It is not counseling, mediation, or a facilitated conversation with the other party present.
Communication skills coaching is a live video session. It is not a recording library or an open class. There is no classroom to visit. Clients are not received at the office.
Cost, length, and schedule are agreed after the task is discussed.
Limits, stated on purpose
This is not speech-language pathology. If the difficulty is a language disorder, a fluency disorder, or a voice injury, a licensed clinician is the right referral. Coaching assumes you can converse and want the professional version of that conversation to be clearer.
It is not psychotherapy, conflict mediation for legal disputes, or HR investigation support. Do not send sensitive personnel records, medical details, or accusations through the consultation form. Describe the speaking situation in general terms.
The work is coaching on a conversation you name. It is not an open course with a fixed syllabus.
If the request is sales communication, customer service, or another specific workplace program, describe that task in the inquiry. The format is agreed after that conversation.
